From the director of one of the most underrated STAR WARS stories ever (Gareth Edwards, ROGUE ONE) comes an action-packed vision of man’s desperate fight against AI run amok. THE CREATOR follows Joshua (John David Washington, TENET), a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife (Gemma Chan, ETERNALS), on a mission to take out a new superweapon that could wipe out humanity. Things get a little more complicated when the weapon turns out to be a cute little AI kid (newcomer Madeleine Yuna Voyles), leaving Joshua with an impossible choice – destroy an innocent life or risk losing all of humanity.
THE CREATOR is a thrilling and cinematic illustration of why making super-advanced artificial intelligence isn’t necessarily the best idea. With excellent direction from Edwards and plenty of smoldering charisma from Washington, it’s both fantastic sci-fi and a great reminder to keep a close eye on those chat robots.
